Horse Riding is also known as equestrianism. Horse Riding is the activity of sitting on a saddle on the back of a horse and riding across country, beach, through forests etc. The rider controls every movement of the horse through use of the reins and the rider's legs.Horses are trained and ridden for many practical working purposes such as police work or controlling herd animals on a ranch. Horses are used in many competitive sports such as dressage, racing, show jumping, polo and rodeo.Horses are known to be first tamed around 3000BC before this people hunted them for their meat and especially their skin to make into leather hides for clothes, tents and tools. There are also known cave drawings from the Bronze Age, which depict horses being ridden. Throughout history, horses have been used as a means of transportation, in agriculture and in military combat.
